How can they make the pictures flash

There is plenty of surf to get excited about, Fraser Park Beach is right behind where we live and Catherine Hill Bay, Caves Beach and Redhead Beach a bit further to the North. The quite times on the Lake are also a blessing - the definiton of peace & quite to me is laying in a bunk on a boat listening to the water lap the sides as the silence grows about you.Nords Wharf at sunset

Creek WildlifeThere's always some place better, if ya keep looking you'll find these places and where they are, however this little stretch of sand is where Sam and I have chosen to settle and it has turned out to be someting special to us. One look helped Sam & I decide that this is where we would like to spend the rest of our time. Well, water is always the big attraction and similiar to where I was raised on the central coast, this little oasis ticks all the boxes. Sam is enjoying her time at Glenrock Reserve, our back yard so to speak. Comprises massive protected bush areas, waterfalls, creeks, and heaps of flora & fauna. The creek flows to the beach, over some nice waterfalls, a good place to unwind and be grateful for what we have.

cruising at Pelican BeachInto sailing over the last 8 years, crewing on yachts which are racing out of Lake Macquarie and Toronto Yacht Clubs. I have had the pleasure to sail the Adams 10, Adams 38, Endevour 26, and Holland 25 all having given me the necessary sailing skills and love of the sound of wind in the sails.
Race Meetings are Wed. A'noon, early Friday Evening and Saturdays.
The crew on the Holland 25, "Nearly Midnight" are good guys and the skipper Anthony, fun to be around while sometimes watching him slide further into despair while being unable to win a race.
The Toronto Yacht Club also offers friendly skippers willing to take on board able and willing crew.

Life today

Well, if it's the magic of the perfect location or the wonderful wife of mine, I have enjoyed the Lake Macquarie experience since early '91, a place of peace, heaps of seafood & the casual surf. Parts of the coast have a real holiday place feel about it and spending time in the water was time well spent.
